About the event

Let's talk partnership.

Yellow is a 10-minute film rooted in deeply personal themes: mother–daughter relationships, Black women’s mental health, forgiveness, and the revelatory power of healing. It’s women-centered, partly set in Dayton, Ohio, and was the precursor to a larger novel, Running Between Dandelions.

Partner with Penda L. James, writer, and Selene Burkes Rentchler, director, to create a piece of art that speaks to healing between Black mothers and daughters, mental health with tenderness, and to forgiveness without spectacle. We are intentionally curating a space to highlight and promote the people and organizations who help make Yellow possible—whether through credits, acknowledgments, or broader visibility as the project grows.
