Hello Scribes,
I heard a well-known writing coach say, "Nobody wants to read a book about you."
I understand, but disagree with the sentiment. I read books about people all the time. Some of my favorites include:
"I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings" - Maya Angelou
"Belonging" - Michelle Obama
"Sacred Privilege" - Kay Warren
"Made To Crave" - Lysa Terkeurst
I've been pondering this statement for weeks. I even recorded a live video to talk about it. Leave a comment to let me know what you think.
If you haven't written a book and want to, what three things would you want readers to remember about you?
Here are 5 reasons you should write a book even though they say no one wants to read it.
Let me know how I can help. And, there are several new podcast episodes available. Here is one you might enjoy from Dionna Rojas Orta, she just published her book Alignment. You can order a copy here.
Remember Your Strength,
Penda
I love this. I’ve always wondered if people would care if I wrote a memoir about my life and they don’t know me. What could they gain from it, how would my family feel about it. I was inspired by your own book and also some that you listed. This newsletter is beautiful.
